Macnas Con Mór

Macnas, the internationally acclaimed spectacle theatre company based in Galway, asked Sherpa to get involved with a special event which took place in October 2022. This incredible project took 10 months to complete and all ideas were brought to life from the brilliant, creative mind of the Director Noeline Kavanagh.
The guest of honour of course was CON MÓR, The Giant seen in the time lapse footage above. The snippet shows CON MÓR being installed at the event location, which Sherpa Events organised logistically. From start to finish, the creation and installation of CON MÓR was a a labour of love. Cut from steel by Rynn’s Engineering in Galway and decorated with locally foraged willow from East Galway for 4 months in the Macnas warehouse.
The arrival of CON MÓR on the banks of the River Corrib, thrilled audiences young and old across two days. We here at Sherpa were delighted to be the event management company behind this Macnas spectacle.
